Update in Our Life

1. I hate Germany because every time I tried to update the blog it didnt let me put pictures up so I quit!

2. Blake deployed... AGAIN
yes you read that right he is gone again. I cant believe it but that is our life and we knew that it would probably happen. Its weird though because this time it is easier and harder at the same time if that makes sense? It is easier because I know what to expect this time however it is harder because we have Cale now and Blake has to miss out on 6 months of his life. I hate that for Blake but at least Cale is so young that he wont really know, except for the pictures. And I told Blake that at least when he comes home he can wrestle around with Cale more than he can right now since he is still in the baby stage. Hurry up and wait, story of our lives!

3. Cale and I moved to Alabama until Blake comes home
Blake left on August 9th and Cale and I headed home on August 10th. I didnt really want to hang out in Germany by myself too long. I had already been by myself the whole month of July because Blake was gone to schools so I had already missed him. I didnt want to be too emotional and Cale having to deal with me! :) My parents were extremely excited that we were coming home, but I'm not sure if they were ready to have a baby living with them!! :)

4. My best friend got married... WHAT?!?
I cant believe it! Leigh got married and Cale was in the wedding! I'm not going to lie he was pretty cute!! He was carried in a wagon with our friend's little boy Colin. Which by the way is the cutest, sweetest and most adorable little boy. He was so exicted to hold the baby. Cale did great going down the aisle, he was just looking around at all the people. I cannot wait to see the pictures!

5. My son will be 4 months old in 3 days
I cannot believe that it has been 4 months since I gave birth to my sweet baby boy! He is growing up too fast! We will be trying baby food for the first time next weekend!! I will be feeding him and my mom will take pictures and then video tape it. We have to do what we have to do so that Blake wont really miss anything. And soon he will be rolling over. He is close but just not there yet.

Oh yeah and today he will get in the pool for the very first time. I'm not sure if he will like it but i cant wait to put him in and of course take pictures!! I will post pictures... I promise

Oh My Poop

OK... so everyone knows that with little boys that you will probably get peed on at some point, well yes this is true. Blake and I have both been "blessed" as some of my friends like to call it. But did anyone tell you about the poop? Let me just tell you a story...

I was going to change Cale's diaper because I smelled something. So I open the diaper and sure enough he had pooped, not a lot but poop is poop right. So I start cleaning him up and then all of the sudden he decided to start pooping again, well I am kinda stuck here because I was done cleaning him and was in the middle of putting a new diaper on him, so I grab a wipe and literally hold it under his butt and he is pooping in the wipe that I am holding. My child has now basically pooped in my hands, and yes my mom and Blake are in the room laughing hysterically. All I can do is hold this baby wipe and let him finish. Pretty funny huh?? Well there is more! So I clean his little butt and have the new diaper in my hand to put on him and what does he do??? He starts pooping AGAIN!! Come on kid how much poop do you have in you?? Where did all this come from and why do you wait until I have completely cleaned you up to start pooping again? So once again I am holding a baby wipe under his little butt as he poops AGAIN! And this was in my first week of parenthood! Oh man I can’t wait to see what the next few years have in store for me!

Finally Made His Arrival

Our life has certainly changed in the last week. Our little boy finally decided to make his arrival, and boy was I happy about that! Starting a week or so before my due date Blake and I started walking every day. Mainly because we wanted this little boy to come on time, and I had also heard that if you walk then it can make for an easier birth. So May 1st came and went and we had NO BABY! I had an amazing pregnancy and was never really uncomfortable until the last two days. Somebody told me that the saying is "Easy pregnancy, hard labor" OH NO..... Well my cute and adorable son decided that he would play a joke on me and take FOREVER to get here!! Soo here is the story...
So on Thursday afternoon (May 5th) my friend Leyla asked if I wanted to go to lunch so we went and ate at the bowling alley. Little did I know that this would be my last meal until Saturday afternoon! So after we ate we went to the commissary, and while we were at the commissary, I started having contractions. Leyla was pretty excited and I was like oh my gosh, my brother was right! I am going to have this baby on Cinco de Mayo. Well the contractions continued all afternoon, and around 5 that night we called labor and delivery and told them that my contractions were 3 to 5 minutes apart since about 3:30. They told me to go ahead and come in. This was it!! We were finally going to have this baby!! Cale was coming! So we get to the hospital and they start tracking me and yep I am in labor and my contractions are 4 minutes apart BUT I am only 1 1/2 cm dilated. CRAP.... so we were sent home and they told us to come back a little later if I am still having contractions, well around midnight we go back because my contractions are still happening and they are still 3 to 5 minutes apart. So when we get to the hospital, there is no change! :( so they gave me an ambien to sleep and we went back home again! So Friday we had already had an appointment for a stress test, so when we got to the stress test the doctor checked and I was 3 cm dilated and during the stress test I had contractions the whole time so they sent me up to labor and delivery. However at the hospital we go to, they won’t admit you until you are 4 cm dilated so we were told to walk, and that is what we did for an hour... WALKED!! We got back and YAY we are 4 cm dilated, got admitted and I was there or the next 18 1/2 hours in labor with this sweet little boy. He wanted to take his sweet time because he liked the pool! :)

FINALLY had Cale Mason Allen on May 7, 2011 at 7:54am (Germany time)
He weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and was 21 3/4 inches long

He is amazing; I can’t believe that he is here! But I love him and when they say that the love for your child is like no other, people are not lying! I am beyond blessed to have an amazing husband and an adorable son!!

The picture uploader isnt working, so I will upload pictures later! :) Promise... I have tons!

May 1st

Well it is officailly May 1st. Our due date, and no baby yet. Everyone knows that being a first time pregnant woman, that most likely you will go over your due date, and that is perfectly fine. However what the doctors and friends dont tell you is this... For the past 9 months you have looked forward to that ultimate due date! You create a countdown, get nervous as the day gets closer and are ready for that baby by that date. But then your due date is here and you are sitting in your house feeling the same way you have for the past couple of weeks and you have no baby! I am super excited about Cale being here, I just dont know when he will actually decide to make his arrival. I am hoping soon!! Blake and I have started our walking! :)

Oh Germany

So I don't think that I have actually blogged about Germany. Mainly for the fact that I don't want people to think that I am ungrateful... however Germany SUCKS sometimes!! I love when we can actually travel and see places that we have never been. I am looking forward to my mom coming in May and possibly going to the Netherlands and my in-laws coming in June and traveling around Italy. But I hate how everything is in German. Like our cell phone bill! So we are under one plan yet they take two separate payments out for mine and Blake's. So last month when I paid the cell phone bill under Blake's name, his phone got paid for and mine did not. So i will now have to wait until the next bill to get it paid and mine to be turned back on. I also miss the food in the states so much! I hate when I don't feel like cooking, our only choices for food is Burger King, McDonald's and the bowling alley. So that is my venting for the day, sorry for the complaining!! BUT......

I am super excited about Cale being born soon, and about family finally visiting, and about going to the states in August for my best friend's wedding!

My Heart Hurts

My heart has certainly been hurting since this weekend when I found out that my Nana (my mom's mom) had a stroke last Thursday night. The bad news was I didn't get the email until I was in the car on my way to Prague. So I was now stuck with no way to call home and check in. I only had email but that just wasn't good enough. When I got home on Sunday the first thing I did was call my family. Come to find out my Nana had a massive stroke Thursday night and they rushed her to the hospital. Her right side is paralyzed and she cannot talk. So I have been checking up on her everyday. I had a hard Sunday night, I was in a lot of pain because I cannot fly home. Sunday was my last day to fly because I am too far along in my pregnancy for it. I just wanted to go home and be with her and see her! The doctor practically told my family Friday night that my Nana was going to die and that she would probably never leave the hospital. I was thinking that Cale will never meet his great grandmother! I will never see my Nana again and I didn't know what to do. Thankfully Blake was here and just let me sit in his lap and boo hoo! He was great that night. BUT... last night when I called to check on her we have some GOOD NEWS!! This makes my heart happy and gives me hope!! Yesterday my Nana was accepted into a rehab program, they just had to get her stabilized and then they would move her into the rehab. So yesterday when some of the rehab people came in and wanted to see her, they stood her up for a couple of minutes, which is great! Then the speech rehab people came in they got a few sounds out of her, not any words but some grunts. And we will take what we can get! :) and p.s. my grandmother is from the north and my Aunt told my Nana that after rehab she might lose her northern accent and have a southern one, and my Nana shook her head no and smiled! Bless her heart she still has a sense of humor! :) anyways... since her stroke was on the left side of her brain, she is paralyzed on her right side of her body. Yesterday one of the rehab people pinched one of her right fingers she pulled back. So she has some sensation on her right side, which is great! Then when she was asked if they pinched her finger she shook her head yes. So that is the new good news, and I am praying that she will make a full recovery. I know it's selfish of me but I need my Nana to be ok. I need to see her again and I need her to meet her great grandson. Please pray for her daily that she will make a full recovery!

Where has the time gone?

Well I remember being in Germany saying I'm going to the states in a month or 2 weeks, but I am now here and have been in the U.S.A. for 3 weeks! crazy... yes I know! I am now also 30 weeks pregnant and cant believe that we only have 10 weeks left! Or if he decides early than less! I cannot wait until our little man gets here! Oh how are life is about to change!

We have already had one baby shower and it was a blast! We got basically everything we needed just missing a few things, but I am having another baby shower this weekend here in Alabama. Blake and I are so blessed to have people that want to give us a shower and that want to buy things for this new sweet baby boy! I just cant tell you how grateful we truly are! This week is so exciting! Not because I have a research paper due but because I get to see Cale Wednesday! I am getting a 4D ultrasound and I cannot be more excited! I am so ready to see his little face and see some facial features of this little boy! Then Saturday is the baby shower, which will be so fun, and then Sunday I am getting some maternity pictures done! So a very busy but exciting week. I will let you know how everything goes... but until then..... Goodbye!

2011... really?

Really?!? 2011 is already here? I cannot believe it. I remember when I was so excited that it was 2010 and Blake would be coming home from Afghanistan. Well 2010 has flown by! Blake finally came home on July 5, 2010. And we began the start of getting to Germany! Crazy how life can change so quickly! While we were getting ready to leave for Germany we found out some exciting news! August 23rd we found out that we were pregnant!!! We were so excited and honestly cannot express just how happy we were. Getting to Germany was an adventure and actually be here was a whole other story!! But in 2010 we went to Paris for the first time also, which was so much fun other than me throwing up, hey i was still in my first trimeseter! :)
BUT...
2011 is where all the fun will happen!!! I am going back to the states in Feb! woohoo! American food!! :)April, my nephew will be born. I already love little miss Chloe so much, i cant imagine another baby. But I know I will love him just as much! MAY, OUR SON WILL BE BORN! It is so weird for me to say my son or our son! My Best friend will be getting married in August and it will be the first time she will see Cale.

Bring it on 2011, I cant wait to see this year through!!
